A charter, not a ticket

This is whole-boat hire rather than a seat on a shared cruise. You book the yacht by the hour, decide when you leave and where you go, and the deck belongs to your group for the duration. Rates start around AED 380 per hour for smaller vessels and rise with size — a 55-foot yacht comfortable for twelve to fifteen guests sits considerably higher.

Because the price is per boat, the cost per head falls sharply as the group grows. For six or more people a charter often works out close to what a shared dinner cruise would cost each, with none of the compromises.

What you sail past

Most charters leave from Dubai Marina or Dubai Harbour, along a coastline unusually dense with landmarks. A two-hour run typically covers the Marina canal, the outer crescent of Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis The Palm, Bluewaters Island with Ain Dubai, and the Burj Al Arab. Longer charters reach the World Islands or continue along the Jumeirah coast.

How the booking works

• You confirm guest numbers and how many hours you want
• We match you to a vessel with the right capacity and deck layout
• The captain proposes a route and adjusts it on the day for sea conditions and for you
• Swimming stops, fishing time and photo pauses are arranged on board as you go

Choosing a size

• Up to 10 guests — a 33 to 42 foot yacht is usually right
• 10 to 20 guests — look at 48 to 60 foot
• 20 to 40 guests — 65 foot and above, with more deck and shaded seating
• UAE regulations cap passenger numbers by vessel, and we confirm the limit for yours before booking

Catering, drinks and occasions

Soft drinks, water and ice are standard. Catering ranges from a platter to a barbecue cooked on board and must be arranged before departure rather than on the day. Alcohol is permitted on private charters and can be supplied on request. Decoration for birthdays, anniversaries and proposals is straightforward with notice — tell us what you are planning and the crew will set it up before you board.

Practical notes

• Charters run year round; sea conditions are calmest October to April
• Arrive 20 minutes early — charter time runs from the booked slot, not from boarding
• Soft soles or bare feet on deck; hard soles are not permitted on most yachts
• The captain may shorten or reroute for safety, and will discuss it with you first
• If the coastguard restricts sailing, you are offered another date or a full refund

Other ways onto the water
