The Green Planet Dubai Tickets: Indoor Rainforest

The Green Planet Dubai tickets from AED 123, for a bio-dome in City Walk built as a working indoor rainforest. Over 3,000 species of plants, animals and free-flying birds live across four levels wrapped around a 25-metre artificial tree. It is open daily from 10am to 6pm, entirely air-conditioned, and takes about 90 minutes.

What your ticket includes

Entry to all four levels of the bio-dome and any keeper talks or scheduled feeding sessions running while you are inside. Confirmation is instant by email.

Animal encounters — sloth meetings, bird handling and similar — are separate add-ons bought on site and are not part of this ticket. Transport, food, drink and City Walk parking are also not included.

How the visit works

You go in at the top and walk down, which is the detail most descriptions leave out and the one that makes the place work. The route follows the structure of a real rainforest from the roof to the waterline:

1. Canopy — the top level, where the free-flying birds are most active and you are level with the upper branches.
2. Midstory — sloths, snakes and the tangle of the tree's middle section.
3. Forest Floor — the darker lower level, with the larger reptiles and invertebrates.
4. Flooded Rainforest — the bottom, with fish and a waterline you look into rather than across.

Ninety minutes is the usual visit. Two hours if you stop for every keeper talk.

Opening hours and when to go

• Open daily 10am to 6pm.
• Last ticket sold online at 3:30pm; last ticket at the gate at 5pm.

Those cut-offs catch people out. Booking online is cheaper and faster, but the online window closes two and a half hours before the dome does, so a spontaneous late-afternoon visit means paying at the gate.

Go on a weekday morning if you can. The dome is compact and a school group changes the experience noticeably. Birds are also more active earlier in the day.

Getting there and parking

The Green Planet sits in City Walk, off Al Safa Street and about ten minutes from Downtown by car. There is no metro station within comfortable walking distance, so taxi or car is the practical choice.

City Walk has multi-storey parking with charges payable on exit. It fills in the evening, when the restaurants are busy, but is rarely a problem during the day.

Animal encounters

Separate from this ticket, the dome runs short paid encounters — meeting a sloth, handling a bird of prey, and similar — booked on site rather than in advance. They last a few minutes and run to a limited daily schedule, so ask at the desk when you arrive if one interests you. They are not needed to enjoy the visit, and the birds pass close enough at canopy level without one.

Good to know

• It is humid inside by design. Glasses and camera lenses fog for the first minute.
• Birds fly freely at canopy level and may pass close to you. They are not handled unless you book an encounter.
• Lifts serve every level, so the route works with a pushchair or a wheelchair.
• The descent is gradual rather than stepped, which suits small children.
• Keeper talks run to a daily schedule posted at the entrance; ask on arrival rather than guessing.
• Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your visit.

Is it worth it?

With children, clearly yes — the mix of sloths, loose birds and a flooded floor holds attention better than an aquarium, and ninety minutes is about right for a short attention span.

Adults should go in knowing the scale. It is one building, not a zoo, and you can walk it in under an hour if you do not stop. What you are paying for is density and design rather than size. If you have time for only one indoor attraction and you are not travelling with children, the aquarium in Dubai Mall is larger for similar money.
