Things to Do in Ferrari World Abu Dhabi: Ride Guide

Ferrari World was the world's first Ferrari-branded theme park and still has the largest space-frame roof of its kind anywhere — that vast red shape you can see from the Yas Island approach road. Most of the park sits underneath it, which matters more than it sounds: this is a theme park you can do in July.

Formula Rossa — the fastest rollercoaster in the world

Still the record holder, accelerating to roughly 240 km/h in under five seconds using a hydraulic launch derived from aircraft carrier catapults. Protective goggles are mandatory because at that airspeed dust and insects become a genuine hazard. The ride itself is short and the launch is the entire point.

Ride it first. It is the single longest queue in the park and it builds within thirty minutes of opening.

Flying Aces

The world's highest rollercoaster loop at 52 metres, themed around 1920s aviation. Slower and more sustained than Formula Rossa, and for many visitors the better ride.

Turbo Track

A vertical launch that fires you through an opening in the roof and drops you back inside. Short, intense, and the queue moves well.

Mission Ferrari

The park's newest major attraction — a multi-system dark ride combining a coaster, a drop and a suspended section. Technically the most ambitious thing here.

Ferrari World rides for younger children

The park skews taller and older than its family marketing suggests, so check heights before you commit a day.

• Benno's Great Race — a gentle family dark ride, suitable from very young.
• Junior GT — a driving school circuit where children drive scaled Ferraris.
• Khalifa's Tower Climb and the Junior Grand Prix — aimed squarely at under-tens.
• Bell'Italia — a slow car ride through a miniature Italy. Good for a hot afternoon reset.

If your children are under about 1.3 metres, they will be excluded from most of the headline rides. Warner Bros. World next door is the better choice for that age, and the combo ticket covers both.

Beyond the rides

• Galleria Ferrari — a genuine collection of classic and current Ferraris, worth twenty minutes even if you do not care about cars.
• The factory tour experience — a simulated walk through Ferrari's Maranello production line.
• Karting Academy — a separately ticketed indoor kart circuit.
• Live shows and the Italian-themed dining street under the main roof.

How to plan your day

1. Arrive at opening and go straight to Formula Rossa.
2. Flying Aces second, before the mid-morning surge.
3. Indoor dark rides and the Galleria through the hottest part of the day.
4. Family rides mid-afternoon when queues shorten.
5. Re-ride anything you loved in the last hour, when the park empties.

Weekdays in term time are dramatically quieter than weekends. A full day is realistic; half a day is enough only if you are targeting three or four specific rides.

Is Ferrari World indoors?

Mostly. The main hall is climate controlled, but Formula Rossa runs outside and several queue areas are not air-conditioned. In July and August that is a real consideration — Warner Bros. World is entirely indoors, which is why the combo ticket suits a summer trip.

Getting to Ferrari World from Dubai

Yas Island is roughly 60 to 90 minutes by road from Dubai and there is no rail link. Driving or a booked car are the realistic options. Parks empty all at once at closing, so a vehicle that waits removes the worst part of the day — a full-day private car with driver handles the return without a queue.

What else is worth doing on the same trip
