Distance and journey time from Dubai Airport to Dubai Marina
The route runs almost the full length of Sheikh Zayed Road, which is also Dubai's main commuter road. That's why the same journey can take 35 minutes or 70.

The five ways to get from DXB to Dubai Marina
1. Private airport transfer
Your driver meets you inside arrivals with a name board, the price is fixed before you fly, and your flight is tracked, so a delay doesn't cost you anything extra. On this route it removes the most uncertainty, because the Marina run is long enough that a metered fare changes noticeably with traffic.

Straightforward and regulated, with taxis waiting outside every terminal. Expect roughly AED 100 to 130 to the Marina, and more in heavy traffic, because the meter charges for waiting time as well as distance. Taxis from the airport also start with a higher flag-fall fare than street taxis. At busy arrival times, the taxi queue itself can add 20 to 30 minutes before you even set off.
3. Careem or Uber
Both work well from DXB's designated pick-up areas. Prices are competitive outside busy times, but during surges, which usually coincide with the busiest arrival times, they can cost more than a private transfer.
4. Dubai Metro and tram
This is by far the cheapest option. Take the Red Line from the Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 Metro station towards the Marina, change to the Dubai Tram at DAMAC Properties or DMCC (formerly Jumeirah Lakes Towers) station, and ride the tram into the Marina. You'll need a Nol card for both.
Allow 75 to 90 minutes including the change, and be realistic about luggage: there's walking at both ends, and the Metro has limits on bag size. Terminal 2 has no Metro station at all. Check the last train time if you're landing late at night.
5. Hotel shuttle
Some Marina hotels run scheduled airport shuttles. They're often free but run to a fixed timetable, which works for a daytime arrival and is useless at 2am. Check with your hotel before you travel.

Where exactly in Dubai Marina?
"Dubai Marina" covers a large area, and the last kilometre matters. Marina Walk, JBR, Bluewaters Island and Dubai Harbour are all within a few minutes of each other but have very different access roads, and the one-way system around the Marina towers is genuinely confusing. Always give your exact hotel or building name when booking, not just "Dubai Marina".
