This is the DXB transfer

Dubai has two international airports and they are 60 kilometres apart. This page covers Dubai International (DXB) in Garhoud, which handles the large majority of passenger flights across Terminals 1, 2 and 3. If you are landing at Al Maktoum in Dubai South, you need the Al Maktoum (DWC) transfer instead — the distances and the fares are completely different.

Why book ahead rather than join the taxi queue

DXB has a functioning taxi rank and it works. The case for booking is about three things: the queue at peak arrival banks can run 20 to 30 minutes, app pricing surges exactly when several wide-bodies land together, and a metered fare is unknown until you arrive. A pre-booked transfer fixes the price, puts a driver inside the terminal holding your name, and removes the decision-making at the end of a long flight.

How the pickup works

We track your flight from departure, so the driver's arrival is tied to when your aircraft actually lands rather than when it was scheduled to. Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall with a name board, helps with luggage and walks you to the vehicle. You get 60 minutes of free waiting from touchdown, which covers immigration and baggage on a normal day.

If you are delayed, nothing needs to happen on your side and there is no rebooking fee.

Journey times from DXB

• Deira and Bur Dubai — 10 to 20 minutes
• Downtown and Business Bay — 20 to 30 minutes
• Palm Jumeirah — 30 to 40 minutes
• Dubai Marina and JBR — 35 to 45 minutes
• Jumeirah and Al Barsha — 25 to 35 minutes

These assume normal conditions. The weekday rush between 5pm and 8pm, and Friday evenings, can add twenty minutes or more.

Vehicles

The standard vehicle carries up to three passengers with luggage. Larger groups take a van seating up to six, or a minibus for bigger parties. Tell us your headcount and bag count when booking so the right vehicle is assigned rather than guessed at on the day — this is the single most common cause of problems at the kerb.

Departures too

The same service runs in reverse. For an international departure from DXB, plan to leave your hotel three hours before the flight; Terminal 3 check-in queues at peak times are substantial. Book the return leg at the same time and we will schedule the pickup against your departure.

Going further than Dubai

If your destination is another emirate, the drive changes the economics — the DXB to Ras Al Khaimah transfer is priced for that route. If you want a vehicle for a full day rather than a single leg, a private car with driver covers eight to ten hours, and a private Dubai city tour adds a suggested route to it.
